Help Finding Accommodation
Check out these links to see a range of housing supports available.If you need more support with accommodation, you’re welcome to drop in , no appointment needed. Our friendly Community Support Workers will listen, discuss your situation, and guide you toward the best options for your needs.
- Tenancy Plus aims to prevent homelessness and to support renters to stay in housing. Support providers can also connect people to a range of other support services in their local area.
- Tenancy Assistance and Advocacy Program (TAAP) services help Victorians who have a private residential agreement and are experiencing financial disadvantage or family violence (regardless of financial circumstances).
- Crisis and Emergency Accommodation help if you are homeless, are at risk of becoming homeless or at risk of family violence.
- Salvation Army Homelessness support services provide a range of homelessness services specific to adults and families, including accompanying children
- The Council for Single Mothers runs a closed Facebook group where single mothers can offer space and/or find shared housing.
- Housing Victoria may be able to provide assistance with a bond if you want to rent privately in Victoria.

Help with Rental Relief
While WERS does not pay rent for clients, we can help you find other sources of rent assistance. We can also help eligible clients with food or other bills so there is more money for rent. Visit us in Box Hill during opening hours.
- Rental Assistance from Services Australia. You may be eligible for extra payments from Services Australia if you already receive certain payments from them.
- The Victorian Government has established a rental assistance fund to provide Rent Relief Grants of up to $1,500 to Victorians experiencing rental hardship as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
- Uniting Wesley’s Private Rental Assistance Program assists individuals and families who are vulnerable or at risk of being evicted from a rental property due to personal or financial crisis.
- Homelessness private rental assistance aims to address and prevent homelessness by providing assistance to broker tenancy arrangements and provide financial assistance to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
